Last week, the WCR All-Stars, along with a legion of leaguemates and fans, travelled up to the Twin Cities to assert their regional dominance. This week, they returned-- job done.
The WCR All-Stars had three games at the Brawl of America and booked three big wins: first a quarterfinal against host Minnesota Rollergirls (155-25), second a semifinal against Cincinnati (163-36), and a championship win over Madison (150-56).

Drew Barrymore rolled into Chicago this week to promote her upcoming derby-themed movie, Whip It! One of her many stops during her busy promotional tour included singing the 7th inning stretch at Tuesday night's Cubs game, and she invited the Windy City Rollers to sing along with her. This weekend, the Windy City Rollers host their second WCR All-Star bout of the season, as our team plays Baltimore's Charm City All-Stars. The two teams met in the quarterfinals of last year's Eastern Regional tournament, and WCR bounced Charm from a spot at the WFTDA Championships with a 137-76 win. With WFTDA's growth and "redistricting" in 2009, the two leagues are no longer regional rivals, but it's quite possible that the teams could meet again in tournament play in November if both advance to this year's WFTDA Championships in ...
