The Windy City Rollers have a long history of partnering with charities, and the 2012 season is bringing you even more sweet with its spice. Each team hand-picked a charity to champion all season long. The Manic Attackers have chosen The Alzheimer's Association as its charity partner.

Founded in 1978, Child’s Play Touring Theatre (CPTT) works to motivate children to write and think creatively, giving them a place where their ideas can come to life through performances of stories and poems written by these young authors. CPTT combines the important, imaginative writings of children with the craftsmanship of professional theatre artists and educators to create a unique stage where children’s voices can be heard, examined and treasured.

 The charity selected by the Windy City Rollers for our support this month is Dreams For Kids, a volunteer based, non-profit children’s charity that breaks down social barriers and ends the isolation of at-risk youth. Dreams For Kids was born on December 24, 1989 in a small room inside a homeless shelter in the Englewood neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois, with a dozen volunteers reaching out to just 54 homeless children.

The charity selected by the Windy City Rollers for our support this month is the Willow House, a Chicago-area foundation that provides help and support to local families grieving the loss of a loved one. Willow House started as a local bereavement group and has grown to become one of the most important industry leaders in the nation, offering peer support groups, workshops and programs for families at no cost.
