Come out this Saturday, March 23 to Horizon Cafe at 3805 N. Broadway for breakfast with the Windy City Rollers! Members of The Fury will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. signing trading cards, giving away tickets for the March 30 bout and eating omelets. Last weekend the Windy City Rollers hosted their annual Black and Blue Ball to celebrate a great 2012 season and award the stand-out players. Congratulations to everyone who was recognized! We expect extraordinary things for the upcoming season!

The Music Box Theatre invites fans of the Windy City Rollers to a very special sing-a-long screening of XANADU tomorrow, Nov. 3. There will be a costume contest, prizes, glow sticks and a night full of magic. Windy City Rollers will be in attendance to help celebrate this tacky, hilarious extravaganza filled with roller skating, neon, spandex and lots and lots of glitter. The weekend you’ve been waiting for is finally here! The WCR All-Stars, along with the other 11 top roller derby teams, are bringing the heat to Hotlanta as they vie for the title of champions and the coveted Hydra Trophy. The WFTDA Championships, “Grits and Glory,” is a single-elimination tournament, beginning today, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. EDT and culminating at the championship bout on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 3 p.m. EST.

Don't forget to join us at the official WCR viewing party today! We'll be at Shambles (2050 W. Division St, Chicago, IL) starting at 3 p.m. for the 3rd place bout, and we'll stay there to cheer WCR on at 5 p.m.  Shambles has a terrific menu and offers a great beer selection, not to mention giant flat-screen TVs for your derby-viewing pleasure. We hope to share another WCR victory with you!

Join us this Sunday, Sept 16, at Shambles, (2050 W. Division) for the North Central Region Playoffs Viewing Party! We’re taking over the bar from 3-7 p.m. for the 3rd place and Championship bouts, so come enjoy the great beer list and menu while we cheer on the WCR All-Stars to victory!

The brackets for the North Central Region Playoffs have been drawn, and we can't wait for Windy City to bring home that trophy and qualify for Championships. The tournament begins on Sept. 14, but, before the tournament starts, download and fill out your brackets and submit them to us. We'll be giving away prizes all weekend long!

The WCR All-Stars are traveling south of the border this weekend for the Star of Texas Bowl, an invitational tournament hosted by the Texas Rollergirls in Austin, Texas on July 21 and 22 to  face off against 2011 WFTDA champions Gotham Girls Roller Derby All-Stars, Bay Area Derby Girls All-Stars, and Texas Rollergirls Texecutioners. But some of your favorite skaters are staying behind just so they can party with you!
