This week, The Windy City Rollers kicked off  Women's History Month by roughing up the Univision team, initiated their newest fan from Stockyard, and showcased their North Shore love in Make it Better.

This week Chicago Now interviewed Val Capone and Julia Rosenwinkel after Windy City's second bout of the season, Windy City Times talked derby with Zoe Trocious, and Gapers Block schooled you with Derby 101.

This week, NBC 5 Chicago dropped in on a Windy City practice, Chicago Now chatted with Val Capone about derby names, and Hoy! talked derby en espanol with Sargentina!

The Windy City Rollers ( WCR ) did not have the showing they were hoping for at the annual Women's Flat Track Derby Association's ( WFTDA's ) 2009 National Champions in Philadelphia—which ended its three-day run Nov. 15—as the Oly Rollers from Olympia, Wash., claimed the title. But the Rollers already are looking forward to 2010, especially the next WFTDA National Championship which, it was just announced, will be held Nov. 12-14 at the UIC Pavilion, 525 S. Racine.

Drew Barrymore rolled into Chicago this week to promote her upcoming derby-themed movie, Whip It! One of her many stops during her busy promotional tour included singing the 7th inning stretch at Tuesday night's Cubs game, and she invited the Windy City Rollers to sing along with her.
