Hot off the tournament circuit, the Windy City Rollers are back in town this weekend as banked track roller derby makes its return to the Chicago area! On November 18 and 19, Kitten Traxx presents The Chicago Invitational women's banked track roller derby tournament at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center in Villa Park, IL.

This week the Windy City Rollers took to the banked track with TribLocal, gave Watch 312.com something to watch AND talk about, and supplied Examiner with some nail-biting action at the WFTDA Divide & Conquer Tournament.

The Windy City Rollers narrowly avoided an upset last night in Indianapolis as they pushed past the home team competition, beating the Naptown Roller Girls 128-117. That win garners Windy City a spot in the final NC Region Champion Bout tonight against the Minnesota RollerGirls!

The Windy City Rollers take their turn on the tournament track today at 2pm central as they battle it out in Indianapolis at Monumental Mayhem, the final playoff tournament before the WFTDA 2011 Championships in November!

The Windy City Rollers All-Stars faced off against the Kansas City Roller Warriors All Stars in a grudge-match-type bout Saturday at the UIC Pavilion.  At the end of the bout, WCR was behind the 8-ball and lost to a determined Kansas City team by a score of 111-92.  The UIC Pavilion transformed into the Terror Dome where two teams would enter, but only one would leave.

 The charity selected by the Windy City Rollers for our support this month is Dreams For Kids, a volunteer based, non-profit children’s charity that breaks down social barriers and ends the isolation of at-risk youth. Dreams For Kids was born on December 24, 1989 in a small room inside a homeless shelter in the Englewood neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois, with a dozen volunteers reaching out to just 54 homeless children.
