I am glad you are sharing your story and I will be back to this site to follow along. You are reaching a far audience on this wonderful world wide web. I live in Grand Junction, Colorado. We have a newly started Roller Derby League called Grand Junction Roller Girls, we just started practicing together last month. We are on Facebook and that is how most people found out about it getting started here. We have a great couple who are making this dream a reality, and I am thankful to them they brought derby to our town. There has never been a derby league here and the closest solid developed league is in Denver about 300 miles away. I think every newbie to derby can relate to what you have written in some form or another. I like you made the decsion quietly and didn't tell anyone I was joining. Then I realized everyone was stoked about it after I told them.

Cool to hear your story...kind of in the same boat. Really interested in trying out, need to get myself to the gym, and heading to Orbit next week to buy all the gear. Hopefully my story ends with me waiting my turn on bout day!
