Doris attended her first Windy City Rollers bout in April of 2007 at Cicero Stadium and knew she wanted to be involved. At the May 2007 bout she was volunteering, and by the June 2007 bout she was on skates as a referee. In addition to reffing WCR home seasons, Doris has reffed numerous midwest bouts as well as participated in tournaments on the East Coast.

Doris was a member of the Windy City Rollers Board of Directors (2007-2009) and proudly participates in numerous charity events with the league throughout the year (including the annual Polar Plunge and Walk and Roll).

Recently, Doris's dentist asked if she chewed on pens or pencils often. "No," Doris said. "But I bite my whistle really hard."
