Nina Faile has been a skater and coach within the Windy City Rollers since 2006. After three seasons serving as captain of the Double Crossers, she now serves as Co-Chair of the Training Committee along with Pominatrix. As captain, she helped take the Double Crossers to the championship game twice, winning once. It all began in late 2005 when she jumped at the chance to try out for the Windy City Rollers. After a couple of months of preparation, she became an official member in March of the next year. She was soon drafted by the Double Crossers and focused on improving her skill, strength, and endurance in hopes of one day earning a spot on the track, and off the bench. Her hard work paid off as her game time increased through her second season and she also took on the role of co-captain of the Double Crossers. Along with Blossom Bruiso they lead the Double Crossers to their first championship victory. After suffering a torn ACL, Nina underwent knee reconstructive surgery in February 2011. Nina currently assists Georgia on Yer Behind, Julia Rosenwinkel and Blossom Bruiso in coaching the Double Crossers toward achieving their goal of building the most awesome team the derby world has ever seen.
Nina's skillful play as a pivot led to her being selected to the 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 Windy City Rollers' All-Star teams. In 2008 she was also selected as Pivot of the Year. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 she was selected best Pivot for the Double Crossers. She's played in three national tournaments and helped her team earn two regional first place titles. She currently joins Angel Dustt and Justice Feelgood Marshal on the coaching staff of the 2011 All-Star team. Together they will assist Jackie Daniels and Old Dirty Go-Go in leading the team toward achieving their goal of winning a WFTDA Championship title.
As Co-Chair of Training she is always seeking to improve the game play and skill level of every member of the Windy City Rollers. This goal fits well with her personal goal to never stop improving her own game play. Nina hopes to return to the track in the 2012 season.
