Betty Larceny
Place Of Birth: Brisbane, Australia.
As an infant, Betty was brought to the door of a convent in the heart of Australia’s Gold Coast. The sisters quickly took her in and raised her as best they could. Knowing nothing of the child’s past, except for the horrible wallaby attack that orphaned her, the sisters named her Beatrice. Little did they know that young Betty had a streak of the Devil in her. Behind the innocent twinkle in her eye was a cold, calculated small-time criminal.
Things began to go missing. Never anything large or costly (convents rarely have things that are), but missing none-the-less. Sister Frances woke to find her left slipper had disappeared. Sister Moira was cooking dinner one evening and couldn’t find her favorite wooden spoon. Even the Mother Superior was a victim of the baffling disappearances: her reading glasses were still there, but the pearled chain which connected the stems was no where to be found.
When Betty was discovered one night sneaking out of Sister Anne-Marie’s room with the old nun’s false teeth, a clamor rose through the whole convent. The sisters tried to teach her, tried to beat the Devil out of her, tried to reason with her. Nothing worked. They finally gave up, and sent her out to make her way as a corrupt individual in a corrupt world.
Naturally, she headed straight for Chicago. There she honed her skills even further, snatching, swiping, and pick-pocketing at every turn. The streets were rough, but Betty was rougher. One afternoon, she was walking past an open garage door and before she knew it, she was at home trying on her new roller skates. They fit her well in both senses; the fit her feet, and they suited her. She now committed acts of larceny at a much greater speed, and liked it. With her wits and skills, new skates, and the Devil inside, she was a prime candidate for the Windy City Rollers.
While absentmindedly slashing tires and casually rooting through unlocked cars in a high school parking lot, Betty met the Hell’s Belles as they were fleeing the scene of a raging gymnasium fire. She was taken in by their feminine fatality and traded in her life of petty theft, causing emotional pain, for one of the Derby, causing physical pain. She has started a new chapter of her life, but has yet to completely close the previous one.
So, gentlemen, be warned, if a fair redhead, an unusually bruised woman, seduces you do not be surprised if you awake to find that you are missing your lucky flipping coin, Chapstick, or shoe-laces, and know that you have just met with the weapon of mass destruction, Miss Betty Larceny.
