Athena DeCrime shakes her head slightly and smiles. She's talking about the length of her career with the Windy City Rollers -- a career that will soon be over. She played her last home bout with the WCR All-Stars on Oct. 19 (a 240-127 win over the Detroit Derby Girls) and will skate in her final WFTDA Championship this weekend in Milwaukee.

The Naptown Roller Girls’ Tornado Sirens looked to snap the WCR All-Stars winning streak on March 31, 2012 at the UIC Pavilion, but fell short losing 187-69 in a bout where they were out matched and out gunned. The WCR All-Stars regional winning streak is now 24 games, and they are still undefeated in the North Central Region. Coming in #1 in the north central region, the WCR All-Stars took to the track on day 2 of the WFTDA Championships, facing off against the Kansas City Roller Warriors. With high hopes of beating their first opponent and moving forward in tournament play, it was not meant to be as Kansas City pulled out a win against the All-Stars.
