Windy City’s Second Wind went down swinging in a transcontinental grudge-match against Toronto’s A-Team, losing 231-179 at the UIC Pavilion Saturday, March 30, 2013. Early on in the bout, both teams were vying for a win but the Second Wind just didn’t have enough gas in the tank to pull it off.

Friday night’s first bout on March 1, 2013, matched up the 2012 champion Manic Attackers against the Double Crossers, a team with a lot of new faces and new talent. The XX made their mark in January with determination and great teamwork, having closed out the preseason tournament with a sassy last minute victory against the Hell’s Belles. This weekend the Crossers showed their squad’s athleticism and growing potential, but they still had their hands full against the Ivy King Cup winners throughout the bout.

On Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, the Windy City Rollers kicked off 2013 with their annual Round Robin Charity Bout, an evening in which each of the four league teams skated on behalf of a charity of their own choosing. The Fury put on skates on behalf of the Working Bikes Cooperative while the Double Crossers skated for Urban Initiatives. Recently, Windy City Rollers All-Stars Ruth Enasia, Karmageddon and Ska Face appeared on NBC Chicago to show off their Regional Playoff trophy and share their championship ambitions. Meanwhile, new Second Wind standout Killa Nois and esteemed All-Stars Phoebe Fi Fo Fum and KonichiWOW made headlines in Gapers Block.

Denver’s Mile High Club, the currently ranked #2 in the world, touched down in Chicago Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 to take on the Windy City All-Stars at UIC Pavilion, an encounter that saw plenty of bumps and bruises.

The first of two afternoon playoff bouts on Mother’s Day kicked off at 3pm as the Double Crossers faced the undefeated Manic Attackers. Windy City All-Star veterans Hoosier Mama and Varla Vendetta joined the Crossers’ squad as guests in addition to Dame Over, Indycent, and co-captain Joanie Utah, all of whom made a return to the roster.
