Mothers Day 2012 seemed more like a heated sibling rivalry as the Hell’s Belles took on Windy City Rollers 2011 defending champs, The Fury, at the UIC Pavilion on Sunday, March 13, 2012.

In a bout that saw the return of super stars Beth Amphetamine for the Manic Attackers and Ska Face for The Fury, the anticipation was high to get the bout under way. With these powerhouses back on the track, it could have been anybody’s bout, but the Manic Attackers mercilessly shut down The Fury with a final score of 138-60.

What can you expect, this season besides a lot of lead changes and flip-flopping on which team is going to win the Ivy King Cup? Here’s what some of the captains have to say for 2012.

The Naptown Roller Girls’ Tornado Sirens looked to snap the WCR All-Stars winning streak on March 31, 2012 at the UIC Pavilion, but fell short losing 187-69 in a bout where they were out matched and out gunned. The WCR All-Stars regional winning streak is now 24 games, and they are still undefeated in the North Central Region. After a back and forth start the defending Ivy King Cup champions, The Fury tallied their first win of the season against the Double Crossers with a score of 139-70 at the UIC Pavilion Saturday night. Leaning on their rookies and transfer talent, The Fury managed a win brought on by pinpointed hitting and mass attack scoring. The Double Crossers were holding their own early on, but couldn’t pull the trigger for a win and fell further behind as the bout came to an end.

After barely getting a win out over the Hell’s Belles earlier in the evening, The Fury looked to hold their ground against the red hot Manic Attackers. Standing up against the Manic Attackers is a fight that will test the resolve of The Fury bench and show their rookies how tough the Manic Attackers can really be.

The Windy City Rollers held their annual Black and Blue Ball over the weekend, and some very special awards were handed out. A big congrats to all the award winners!

Coming in #1 in the north central region, the WCR All-Stars took to the track on day 2 of the WFTDA Championships, facing off against the Kansas City Roller Warriors. With high hopes of beating their first opponent and moving forward in tournament play, it was not meant to be as Kansas City pulled out a win against the All-Stars.
