Saturday night the Windy City Rollers’ second home season date saw a rematch of last year’s two best teams, The Fury and the Manic Attackers. In the last three seasons, the two teams have battled it out against each other for the Ivy King Cup. Friday night’s first bout on March 1, 2013, matched up the 2012 champion Manic Attackers against the Double Crossers, a team with a lot of new faces and new talent. The XX made their mark in January with determination and great teamwork, having closed out the preseason tournament with a sassy last minute victory against the Hell’s Belles. This weekend the Crossers showed their squad’s athleticism and growing potential, but they still had their hands full against the Ivy King Cup winners throughout the bout.
