The Windy City Rollers (WCR), Chicago's premier all-women's flat-track competitive roller derby league, has been ranked No. 1 by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) in the North Central region. These rankings are released quarterly and are used to organize seeings for WFTDA tournaments. WCR is ranked at the top of the region's 19 leagues and above nearby roller derby leagues Detroit Derby Girls (Detroit, Mich.) and Mad Rollin' Dolls (Madison, Wisc.). The WCR is still in its home season, where its four home teams compete for the league championship title. The next bout for the Windy City Rollers will be this Saturday, May 2, at UIC Pavilion, 525 S. Racine, at 6 p.m. WFTDA separates the 79 teams within the association into four regions: East, West, North Central, and South Central. This is the first time WFTDA has ranked teams within these four regions. Prior to 2009, all WFTDA-affiliated leagues were ranked within two regions: East and West.

The Windy City Rollers have been competing in flat-track roller derby on a national level since 2006. WCR is currently No. 2 in the nation. Complete schedule and more information at http://www.windycityrollers.com/.
